Design Trends for 2023
New years’ wishes pave the way for new beginnings, and we’re psyched to see what design trends are coming for 2023. If you've been holding off on redecorating a room or refreshing your home’s window treatments, there’s no better time than now. Rachel Brosky Interiors believe interior design should be fun for everyone, and we can’t wait to help you update your home for the new year.
Natural Vibes
Trend experts expect a resurgence of natural materials in home decor, including wood and stone pieces. Darker stain finishes are replacing the lighter wood that has been popular. You can incorporate earthy touches into your home with Parkland® Wood Blinds, Provenance® Woven Wood Shades, and lots of houseplants.
Sustainable Design
Going green is nothing new, but it’s gaining popularity as a design movement. You can do your part for Mother Nature without sacrificing your home’s style by using Duette® Cellular Shades. Cellular shades feature an innovative honeycomb-like interior that traps air to maintain the temperature in your home. This leads to less energy usage and lower utility costs over time. Cellular shades can also be found in roller style, with Sonnette® Roller Shades, and Roman style, with Solera® Roman Shades.
Make Way for Colors
Say “goodbye” to soft pastel and deep moody palettes and “hello” to bold, bright shades. From happy shades of sage green to louder raspberry hues, color is taking center stage in the new year. Green is the new neutral and makes a perfect canvas to incorporate other colors, like yellows and oranges. You should also be looking for painted fifth walls, aka the ceiling.
Matching Walls & Window Treatments
If you want to create a soothing space, use a monochromatic theme for walls, trim, and window coverings. Any color is fair game with this trend because you can use a variety of hues to keep things exciting but grounded. Add visual interest by layering drapes with sheer shades or shutters. You can also keep things interesting by using patterns and shapes that fall within the tiered monochromatic look.
Focus on Wellness
In the last couple of years, people have been realizing the importance of self-care and wellness. Getting enough natural light is essential to your health and overall well-being. Let the sunshine in with sheer shades, or go au naturel and dress a window using only a sheer with a chic cornice or valance. Room layouts will flow by taking cues from Eastern design, including Feng shui and wabi-sabi.
